The Spine Center Spine Center at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is an 18-bed medical/surgical unit that provides comprehensive care to patients that have undergone elective back and neck procedures. In addition to our spine population, there is opportunity to care for a variety of neurosurgical conditions. This team-oriented unit also offers self- scheduling to support work life balance. We provide specialized training through our comprehensive Spine Orientation Series (SOS). Our nurses also have the opportunity to shadow a neurosurgeon to see a surgery performed. Here you will be provided the opportunity to learn and grow within the specialty and have the opportunity to learn first-hand surgical techniques. We aim for a nurse to patient ratio of 1:5.
