Seoul's unification minister to head up S. Korean delegation for upcoming inter-Korean talks

And ahead of that, officials on both sides are deciding who they're going to send. The South Korean delegation will have five members,... led by unification minister Cho Myoung-gyon. Park Ji-won reports. The two Koreas began working-level discussions on Saturday on how to form each side's delegation for Tuesday's high-level talks,.. and the South Korean unification ministry has finalized its five-member delegation. The delegation will be led by its Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon,... and four other members, including Unification Vice Minister Chun Hae-sung and the Vice President of the PyeongChang Olympics Games planning, Kim Ki-hong. North Korea hasn't yet confirmed its delegation members, but watchers expect Ri Son-gwon, the chair of North Korea's committee for inter-Korean affairs,... to head up Pyongyang's delegation. The two sides will meet on Tuesday at the Peace House in Panmunjeom... on the South Korean side of the border. The main agenda items will be North Korea's participation in the upcoming PyeongChang Winter Olympics and improving inter-Korean ties. If everything goes smoothly, Tuesday's meeting will be the first high-level gathering of its kind since December 2015. The South Korean government is also prepping for the talks with several strategic meetings this weekend. Related ministries as well as the PyeongChang Olympics Organizing Committee are taking part. This comes as Japan's Kyodo News Agency reports that North Korea's IOC member Chang Ung said North Korean athletes will likely to participate in PyeongChang next month,... particularly in pairs figure skating. Chang reportedly made the comment to reporters at Beijing's international airport, where he was presumably transferring for a flight to Switzerland,... where the IOC's headquarters are located.
