The double EP was released in the UK on December 8, 1967 on the Parlophone label, while the Capitol Records LP release in the US occurred on November 27, 1967 and featured eleven tracks with the addition of songs from the band's 1967 singles. 1. Magical Mystery Tour (McCartney w/Lennon) - Lyrics explain in a general way the premise of the film: a mystery tour of the type that was popular in Britain when the Beatles were young. 2. The Fool On The Hill (McCartney) – The song's lyrics describe the "fool", a solitary figure who is not understood by others, but is actually wise. 3. Flying (Instrumental) – One of the few songs and 1st where all 4 receive songwriting credit. 4. Blue Jay Way (Harrison) – First Harrison-written Beatles recording on which he "adapted some of his Indian-derived ideas to a more Western setting." 5. Your Mother Should Know (McCartney) –McCartney wrote it at his house when he had a bunch of family over which he felt inspired the content of the song. 6. I am the Walrus (Lennon) – B-side to "Hello, Goodbye". Lyrics came from 3 song ideas that Lennon had been working on. 7. Hello, Goodbye (McCartney) – Written by McCartney. issued as a non-album single in November 1967, the group's first release since the death of Epstein. The single was commercially successful around the world, topping charts in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and several other countries. 8. Strawberry Fields Forever (Lennon) – Written by Lennon, released in February 1967 as a double A-side single with "Penny Lane". Rolling Stone ranked the track at #76 on its list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time." 9. Penny Lane (McCartney) – McCartney reflected: "Penny Lane" was kind of nostalgic, but it was really a place that John and I knew; it was actually a bus terminal. I’d get a bus to his house and I'd have to change at Penny Lane, or the same with him to me, so we often hung out at that terminal, like a roundabout. 10. Baby, You’re A Rich Man (Lennon) –The song was recorded and mixed at Olympic Sound Studios in London, making it the first of the Beatles' recordings to be entirely created outside EMI Studios, Mick Jagger attended the 6 hour session. 11. All You Need is Love (Lennon) – Released as a non-album single in July 1967. Written by Lennon. Rolling Stone 370th on its list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time” Song served as Britain's contribution to Our World, the first live global television link, when the Beatles were filmed performing it at EMI Studios in London on June 25 1967.
