Officer-involved shooting in Jefferson City

A suspect was shot during an officer-involved shooting in Jefferson City on Thursday. On February 26, at 4:16 p.m., Jefferson City police officers were patrolling the 800 block of Broadway Street when a subject fled from officers. Additional units responded to the area. An officer-involved shooting occurred at 4:18 p.m., according to a press release. The press release also mentioned that a 40-year-old male suspect was struck by gunfire, and officers immediately rendered aid. No officers were injured during the incident. The suspect was transported from the scene for medical treatment. The Jefferson City Police Department stated the primary investigation into the incident has been turned over to the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Jefferson City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division. ORIGINAL: A Jefferson City street was shut down Thursday evening after an officer-involved shooting. Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Kyle Green confirmed the shooting happened.
