How to Sleep Better Without Medication
NewLifeChiropracticRocklin.com Sleep issues plague nearly 50% of Americans. This includes: Difficulty falling asleep Trouble staying asleep Not getting enough time to sleep Waking up still tired. Right now the number one symptom in America is fatigue! Hundreds of billions of dollars are spent on medications to treat the symptoms of sleep problems without addressing anything that's causing it. So if you're one of those people that doesn't feel like you have abundant energy and vitality every day or you're not getting the proper sleep or rest, you are going to love this video! I'll share natural, drug free solutions to help you get better, more restful sleep so your brain and your body can rest and heal the way it was designed to. 1. Setup your sleep environment for success. What does that look like? You want to have a room that's totally dark with no blue lights, no ambient lights, no night lights, just complete darkness. You want to make sure your room is not too hot or too cold, typically below 70 degrees. We recommend anywhere between 66 and 70. You want to make sure there's no electromagnetic frequencies. This includes routers, computers, cell phones, tablets, Wifi, and tvs. These are all things that create waves that actually affect your brain and nervous system. You want to make sure that you're not using a lot of screen time before you go to bed. That includes tv, phones, and tablets. If you must use these devices close to bedtime get amber light filters, which makes sure you're blocking the light out that affects your sleep. Use your bed for sleep only! Not tv or other things. Don't drink a lot of water or eat right before you go to bed so your body is ready to relax and go to sleep. 2. Diet & exercise for restful sleep. Eat a good nutritious diet, not too much sugar, not too much toxic food. Get plenty of exercise which releases good hormones into your body. 3. Make sure that you're getting proper corrective chiropractic care. If your spine is out of alignment, creating subluxation, it actually puts pressure on the nerves that affect your sleep rhythms, especially in your neck. One of the biggest things I see is people that have their posture where their head is shifted forward. What that does is it puts pressure on the brain stem. The brain stem controls the neurotransmitters of the brain. Things like Serotonin and dopamine and Melatonin, and it controls the sleep patterns called a circadian rhythm that your body uses to actually get to sleep and stay asleep. So if you're having struggles with sleep and you know your posture isn't that great, you've had any issues in your neck, you use devices, or you sit during the day, it's likely you have subluxation in your neck. That subluxation is interfering with your sleep. What I see all the time with patients coming here in our office, as we're correcting these subluxations, restoring that good neck curve, and getting the stress off the nervous system, is that they start sleeping better. They're getting more restful sleep. They're waking up with more energy and their life is overall better. So if you're struggling with sleep and you want to have more energy, the first and best place to check is your spine and nervous system. Then be sure to set up your environment, right.
