It is when the victim is blamed and shamed instead of the perpetrator. It is a manifestation of misogynistic mentalities that view women as puppets controlled by the strings of sexist society and not as complete, whole individuals. In this documentary, the ugly impact of such actions is shown. ‘Blindfold of Rape Culture’ shows the story of those victims who are forced to feel guilty, who are showered with judgement by society. The documentary focuses on this hellish concept where a ‘blindfold’ of shame is put over their eyes and they get coerced to live a controlled life with no freedom, no sense of justice and only vile, cruel perceptions of their life and their ways of living. This documentary is also for all the other women who have been a victim of unwanted advances, unrealistic expectations of being a ‘good’ woman, silent harassment and ultimately, the sufferer of the blindfold of rape culture that has been tied around their eyes since a young age. It gives a message that one day all women are going to strip off the blindfold and they will see the world from their fearless eyes and not from the misogynistic point of view of society.
