CHRISTCHURCH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA in 2019 - trailer
CHRISTCHURCH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA in 2019 - trailer The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra had a memorable year in 2019, moving back home to the Christchurch Town Hall after years of earthquake enforced exile at the Airforce Museum in Wigram. The orchestra celebrated fittingly with a spectacular homecoming concert and continued the party throughout the year. The Douglas Lilburn Auditorium has been lovingly restored and modernised, retaining its world-class acoustic, while the addition of offices, a library and the Ron Ball Studio centralise the orchestra’s operations and make the facility a centre for musical excellence. We bring you Resound film of three New Zealand works performed by the CSO in 2019, by Chris Cree Brown, James Gardner and Douglas Lilburn. Plus a re-release of Gareth Farr’s ‘Roar of a Thousand Tigers’. Audio recorded by RNZ Concert. Film funded by NZ On Air.
