In 1 Corinthians 2:16, Paul quotes Isaiah 40:13 and then makes a statement concerning all believers: “We have the mind of Christ.” Having the mind of Christ means sharing the plan, purpose, and perspective of Christ, and it is something that all believers possess. Having the mind of Christ means we understand God’s plan in the world—to bring glory to Himself, restore creation to its original splendor, and provide salvation for sinners. It means we identify with Christ’s purpose “to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 19:10). It means we share Jesus’ perspective of humility and obedience (Philippians 2:5-8), compassion (Matthew 9:36), and prayerful dependence on God (Luke 5:16). ----THE MIND of CHRIST is a MIND of: ---HOPE ---COMPASSION ---GRACE ----SERVANTHOOD ----LOVE ----JOY ----CREATIVITY ----FAITH ----TRUTH ----FORGIVENESS ----VICTORY ----ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE LIFE LESSONS from an 80-year-old man 1---have a firm handshake 2---look people in the eye 3----sing in the shower 4----own a great stereo system 5----protect others secrets—don’t be a secret teller, be a secret keeper 6----never give up on anybody 7----always accept an outstretched hand 8----be brave, even if you’re not – pretend to be—no one can tell the difference 9---WHISTLE 10---avoid sarcastic and condescending remarks 11--- choose your spouse carefully – from this one decision will come 90% of your happiness or misery… 12---Make a habit of doing nice things for people who will never find out 13---Loosen up.
