Classic TV Theme: Barnaby Jones (Jerry Goldsmith)

Buddy Ebsen was 'Barnaby Jones' (1973), a retired P.I. who turned the agency over to his son. But his son's murder brought Barnaby out of retirement, and back into the P.I. business. A mid-season replacement, 'Barnaby' proved surprisingly strong, helped by a opening crossover with 'Cannon'. It would run seven and a half seasons, with Jerry Goldsmith's theme along for the entire ride. On this video: • Season one opening and end credits. • Season three open - can't spot much change from season one. • Season five open - a new arrangement for the theme, and new visuals as J.R. (Mark Shera) joins the firm. • Season eight open and end credits - another revised arrangement, with some added percussion beats in the closing credits roll.
