Novena in reparation for the offenses against the Sacred Heart of Jesus, King of the Universe. Let us pray at any time of year, and especially on His solemnity, to the King of Kings, Christ the King! On December 11, 1925, Pope Pius XI proclaimed the encyclical Quas primas—as in the first one—in which he extols the reign of Jesus Christ and explains the nature of the Kingship of Christ Jesus. From which we highlight: Jesus is King because He is our Redeemer, Lawgiver, and Judge, and He has executive power; that is, we must all obey His command. Jesus is King of the whole world, of all humanity, whether we are Catholic or not, whether we believe in Him or not. Christ Jesus is “the source of public and private good.” “Outside of Him, we must not seek salvation in anyone else; for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” He alone gives true prosperity and happiness, both to individuals and to nations: for the happiness of a nation comes from no different source than the happiness of its citizens, since a nation is nothing other than the harmonious union of its citizens. “Oh, what happiness we could enjoy if individuals, families, and societies would allow themselves to be governed by Christ!” LONG LIVE CHRIST THE KING!!
