Nintendo just celebrated the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. with a big Nintendo Direct, filled with reveals for both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. From the return of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 to fresh looks at Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokémon Pokopia, this presentation set the stage for an exciting 2025 and beyond. Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto also announced The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, coming in April 2026, along with new titles like Mario Tennis Fever and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Fans can also expect updates and DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Donkey Kong Bananza.
