https://www.harpgallery.com An exquisite three piece mantel clock and garniture set includes two candelabra, made in France about 1895. The sculpture of "Charmeuse" or a charming lady is signed "Causse Cadet." The sculptor, Julien Causse Cadet was born in Bourges and lived 1969-1914, and exhibited at the Exposition Universelle or World's Fair of 1900 in Paris. Famous for his female figures of women during the Art Nouveau period, the artist's works are in numerous museums and collections. The statue and candelabra are cast in spelter, a white metal alloy with original patination in bronze tones. The clock keeps accurate time and has a silvery bell that counts the hours and marks the half hour. Professionally cleaned and regulated, the brass movement is original. The porcelain dial is hand painted on this antique set from France. Rouge marble pedestals are in very fine condition, there is a hairline crack in one of the candelabra. Measurements of the clock are 11" wide, 6" deep and 22" tall, candelabra are 8" wide, 6 1/2" deep and 23" tall.
