HEAR Journaling - Psalms Chapter 87 Highlight Psalm 87:4-6 New Living Translation A song. A psalm of the descendants of Korah. 4 I will count Egypt[b] and Babylon among those who know me— also Philistia and Tyre, and even distant Ethiopia.[c] They have all become citizens of Jerusalem! 5 Regarding Jerusalem[d] it will be said, “Everyone enjoys the rights of citizenship there.” And the Most High will personally bless this city. 6 When the Lord registers the nations, he will say, “They have all become citizens of Jerusalem.” Explain – God spoke through the psalmist to say that all nations will one day honor Him, will all be considered citizens of Jerusalem. Everyone will enjoy the rights of citizenship there as the Most High God will bless all the inhabitants. Revelation 21:1-4 New Living Translation The New Jerusalem 21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.[a] 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Apply – Today we have that great future to look forward to. The decay and depravity of this current world system will be vanquished. We, the living disciples of Christ, will live through eternity with our Lord. We should each be sure that our relationship with the living God is as it should be so that we can partake in this glorious future. Seek Him now. Respond – Lord, thank You for this glorious future that You have prepared for me. I seek to abide in You as You abide in me every moment of every day through eternity.
