Deus Ex Game of the Year and September 11

Deus Ex Game of the Year and September 11

Deus Ex is a first-person action role-playing game released in early 2000 and is considered by many older generations of gamers to be their all-time favorite. In the years since its release people have noticed some peculiar details such as the conspicuous absence of the twin towers in the artwork representing the New York skyline. The game was partly influenced/inspired by the ambient aesthetic of the movie 'The Matrix' which brings to mind the uncanny representation of the date of September 11 in an early scene of the movie.
