DRIVING IN THE PHILIPPINES. FOREIGN LICENSE GOOD? RENTALS? ROAD RULES & FINES? #TRAVEL, #CEBU

Traveling to and driving in the Philippines can be a rewarding but also challenging experience. It is best to know the rules and risks before purchasing or renting an automobile, motorbike, or scooter. Your foreign license should be good to use in the Philippines for 90 days under current laws. The major rental businesses like Avis, Dollar, Hertz, etc are located at the airports and some hotels probably. One can also rent a car or van with a driver for the day or week. Motorbike rentals can be found at many locations and my experience is they run from 300-500 pesos/day but this will vary depending on the length of rental and area. Traffic enforcement is evolving with more traffic enforcers out on the streets. There are also more traffic cameras up capturing red-light runners, etc. You will be driving in a new country with new laws and driving habits and customs, so be careful and aware of these differences.
