Archbishop Vigneron Homily for the Third Sunday of Ordinary Time Mass for Life 2023
On January 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament Archbishop Vigneron celebrated Mass for the third Sunday of Ordinary Time, “Out of Darkness Into Life.” The Gospel reading proclaims that “the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, on those dwelling in a land overshadowed by death, light has arisen” (Matthew 4:16). On the 50th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade — now overturned and replaced in our state of Michigan by a new constitutional right to abortion — let us gather, “united in the same mind and in the same purpose” to bring the Lord’s light and salvation to those in darkness that all may come to know and to live the Gospel of Life.
