Jehovah's Witnesses and the Fallacy of New Light

When asked about the many adjustments in the organization’s teachings over the years, Jehovah’s Witnesses are fond of using Proverbs 4:18 to explain that God progressively reveals new light to the governing body. But does this verse have anything to do with the changing interpretations of a 20th century religious organization? If the governing body receives enlightenment from God, does that mean he is responsible for the errors?
