Today marks Thursday of week 29 in Ordinary Time. Today's Gospel is Luke 12:49-53 In today's Gospel, we hear the Lord mention how he is bringing division. Is this antagonistic? Is the Lord trying to start a war? or is the Lord saying that because of belief in him, it will divide even members of a household? There are so many ways a Gospel passage can be interpreted. Please read the Gospel below and share yours in the comments. Gospel Luke 12:49-53 Jesus said to his disciples: ‘I have come to bring fire to the earth, and how I wish it were blazing already! There is a baptism I must still receive, and how great is my distress till it is over! ‘Do you suppose that I am here to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. For from now on a household of five will be divided: three against two and two against three; the father divided against the son, son against father, mother against daughter, daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law, daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.’ Picture used in short is: Fire Painting F71, Work executed by Yves Klein (1928-1962), Photograph of the artist at work, Photographed in 1961 at Gaz de France testing centre, Plaine-Saint-Denis, France, © Photo Louis Frédéric Contact: [email protected] Follow us on X: / _catholicfacts Instagram: / _catholicfacts TikTok: / _catholicfacts Tags: gospel, luke 12:49-53,gospel today, gospel reading for today, gospel reflection today, gospel of luke, daily gospel today, today's gospel reading, daily gospel reading, daily gospel reflection, daily gospel, gospel for today, mass gospel today, todays gospel reading, today's gospel reflection, luke 12:49-59,gospel and reflection today, gospel reflection for today, gospel for today reflection, luke 12:49-53 reflection, daily gospel reflection today, catholicfacts, catholic
