2026 Toyota Yaris - new look and more technology

Toyota Yaris The highly efficient Yaris will be updated for 2026 to further showcase the model’s core values of innovation, quality, and character, while reinforcing its role as a key contributor to Toyota’s European sales success. Since its 1999 introduction, generations of Yaris drivers have benefited from advanced technology and proven dependability, while standing out from the crowd thanks to its distinctive looks and fun-to-drive personality. The model is a cornerstone of Toyota’s line-up in Europe, and one of its best-sellers. In 2024, Yaris and Yaris Cross were Europe’s two most popular full hybrid cars while Yaris was the continent’s 10th best-selling vehicle, with 174,000 sales. With its “big-small” philosophy combining a compact and purposeful exterior with a spacious interior, Yaris has led the way in introducing new technology to its segment. From raising the bar on safety to pioneering full hybrid power and becoming the first compact car built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) GA-B platform, Yaris has continually set new standards. Toyota’s latest version of the fourth generation Yaris continues to be built in Europe for European customers, showcasing innovative design and engineering across a series of grades to suit customer preferences, including the GR SPORT variant.[JD1] [CW2] The fourth generation Yaris offers a dual-hybrid approach to meet customers’ varying needs and ensure exceptional efficiency. The Hybrid 115 powertrain delivers optimal environmental performance, while the Hybrid 130 option has sharper acceleration and a more engaging drive. For 2026, Mid+, the grade of choice for around 40% of customers, has been updated and enhanced with a fresh look and additional technology as standard. New matte black 17-inch alloy wheels – increased from the previous 16-inch versions – and dark chrome wheel nuts create a bolder appearance. Inside, seats have a sportier shape, upgraded fabric and an elegant three-tone grey stitching pattern. To enhance everyday convenience, advanced technologies are now standard on Mid+ for the first time, including smart entry, push-button start, wireless charging and ambient lighting. Across the Yaris range, the stylish Celestite Grey colour will also be introduced for 2026.
