2020 NYE Ball Drop | What it's really like to visit NYC!

Hey, ya'll! over the winter break, we decided to fly into NYC to watch the ball drop. We were in NYC for about 24 hours! We didn't get a hotel or an Air BNB. On December, 31st we flew at 8 a.m. from NC and landed in Newark around 10 a.m. then on the 1st we flew back to NC! It is certainly one of my wilder travel stories so far. We flew in and out while checking out the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square and watching the ball drop. It was a very memorable experience and my favorite part was the Statue of Liberty. It was so cool to experience Times Square on New Year's Eve too! We only spent about $130 total for this trip. We used points for our flights. If you want all the good details to check out my blog at www.thekelseyway.com A few things to watch for: 1. NO Backpacks allowed. The official Times Square website is not updated. They will not allow any type of bag that resembles a backpack. 2. Checkpoints are everywhere. Prepare to be wanded down at each one. 3. No Bathrooms, but honestly it's not that big of a deal (to me). 4. Chance of dehydration from lack of water and standing over 6.5 hours. Be prepared and use the restroom and get all your water in during the day. 5. Bring hand and feet warmers. They'll save the night! 6. The ball is way smaller than it appears on T.V. 7. If you want a good spot go before 6 p.m. (that's when we started to line up). If you want to be near the stage and music prepare to be there all day long. I didn't mention this in my video, oops, but there were two people who actually got sick while waiting. One was a younger girl who sounded incredibly drunk. My best advice is not to actually drink before standing and watching the ball drop. She ended up throwing up on another person whom she didn't even know! Crazy right. Then an older lady who was by herself passed straight out. Everyone around us called for a medic. So, please be smart and prepare your body before standing these long hours without water. I hope you enjoyed the video and let me know what you were up to over winter break! :)
