Google Assistant Mic-Open Sound / Hotword Beep Workaround!
UPDATE! On 6-9-24 I set this up on a new Pixel 5 phone. I was frustrated by my method initially not working! Here's how I got it working: I twiddled the "Mic-open notification" and "Mic-close notification" THEN I REBOOTED, and then with twiddled the settings again, and it worked! ------------------ This worked on my Pixel 5. I also have a Pixel 3 where different instructions are required. To enable the microphone-on sound, (the "ba-DING" sound after you say "Hey Google") I had to do something non-obvious! Try this: Go to settings and search for "Accessibility: Google Assistant" . You'll be at a screen that says "Accessibility, Mic-open notification, Mic-close notification". Both will probably be turned on. Turn both options off. Then turn them on again. That was the magic! Now, go back to Settings and look for "Accessibility: Accessibility". Go to Switch access. Turn on "Use Switch Access", Allow it to have control of your device, click "X" when it asks about choosing a switch type. Ta da! Now when you say "Ok Google" it should make the two-note attention noise!
