A 19th Century Halachic controversy that raged from Jerusalem to Hungary and across the world. Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlesinger sought to reinstitute a practise that had not been followed for hundreds of years - to blow the Shofar when Rosh Hashana falls on Shabbos.
