Anterior Pituitary Hormones || Hormones of Anterior Pituitary The anterior pituitary gland produces and releases six main hormones: 1) Growth hormone (GH): Stimulates growth in children 2) Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH): Tells the thyroid gland to produce hormones 3) Prolactin (PRL): Controls breast milk production after giving birth 4) Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH): Stimulates the adrenal glands to produce cortisol and other hormones, and plays a role in how the body responds to stress 5) Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH): Stimulates the testes to produce sperm and the ovaries to produce eggs and estrogen 6) Luteinizing hormone (LH): Stimulates ovulation in people assigned female at birth and testosterone production in people assigned male at birth
