Shreveport Municipal Auditorium Tour: Past and Present

Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, constructed as a memorial to the servicemen of World War I, was built between 1926 and 1929. It is regarded as one of the finest examples of Art Deco construction in the State of Louisiana. This segment of our video tour of Shreveport Municipal Auditorium features a brief overview of the building's history, including some insight into why the building was constructed. It also highlights the many civic purposes this building has served throughout the decades. Included are interviews with archivist Chris Brown, tour guide Lynn Laird and General Manager Sam Voisin.
