Seoul's military said the USS Ronald Reagan, USS Nimitz and USS Theodore Roosevelt entered the East Sea for an unprecedented three-carrier exercise. This is the first time three U.S. aircraft carriers have joined the combined drills with the South Korean Navy. It also marks the first large-scale joint exercise since the leaders of South Korea and the U.S. agreed to increase the rotational deployment of U.S. strategic assets on and around the Korean Peninsula during their summit in Seoul last week.
