As you participate at Mass, consider doing the following: 1. Set-up an altar or prayer space with a crucifix and a candle. 2. Wear appropriate Sunday Mass attire and do not have food near you. 3. Turn off other electronic/mobile devices that may distract you from fully, actively and consciously participating at Mass. 4. Listen attentively to (and if necessary, follow along at USCCB.org or other mobile applications like Laudate, Divine Office or iBreviary) the readings and psalm. 5. Recite the corresponding responses and observe the proper gestures at Mass like sitting, standing and kneeling. 6. At communion time, prayerfully recite the Act of Spiritual Communion: “My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.” (St. Alphonsus Liguori) 7. At the end of Mass, spend a moment in silence and pray for your family, our Church and the whole world. (Español) Recuerde que siempre y en todas partes la presencia amorosa del Señor.
