“I want something” in Korean | Korean FAQ

The word 원하다 means “to want,” but isn’t usually the most common way to express that you want something. Instead, you can use the grammar form 고 싶다 together with the verb 가지다 as 가지고 싶다. But this also has a specific usage, so it can’t be used in every situation.
