Pursue what is meaningful, not what is expedient - 12 Rule For Life
Many thinkers throughout the ages have seen life as cruel and unfair to the point that the drastic changes that some people make to face life's difficulty are justified. The famous Russian writer Leo Tolstoy believed that life was unfair beyond all recognition, to the point that he suggested that there are only four ways to face the injustice of life and that is either living with childish ignorance, or immerse yourself in life's pleasures, or committing suicide, or facing all difficulties. Tolstoy analyzed these four options in his famous essay and concluded that the most sincere one was suicide, as he was seeing the struggle for survival as a sign of weakness. But despite Tolstoy's dark view, and regardless of the extent of suffering or cruelty and injustice you may find in life, you should not complain or blame life for these difficulties. On the other hand, there is another Russian writer named Alexander, Solzhenitsyn was among the Communists who fought against the Nazis during World War II, but despite his service he ended up in the prisons of the Soviet Union after the war. And during his arrest, Alexander discovered that he also had cancer. But despite all this, Solzhenitsyn was not complaining or feeling frustrated or had negative feelings about his life circumstances, Rather, he took it upon himself to use the time he spent in prison to contribute in anything of value to the outside world. Solzhenitsyn spent his prison term writing his famous book "The Gulag Archipelago," which provided historical documentation of the Soviet camps in which he lived in. The book played an important role in eliminating the great support that communism had from various global thinkers at that time. Bit to remember: You must take responsibility in your life, keep away from negative thoughts and complaining about the challenges that may face you
