Time to Shine✨ So Why Play-Dough? Playing with dough is so important for your little ones. It's great for fine motor skills as children use repetitive hand movements when shaping and moulding the dough. These movements build strength in their hands using lots of little muscle when rolling, stretching, squeezing and using different tools when playing with the dough (as well as this is a good calming activity). Children can develop and build upon their imagination by building and creating weird and wonderful things. It's fantastic for little ones to learn to share and help them to understand size, shape and quantity. Singing when playing with dough is a brilliant way to develop language and communication skills, building on their counting knowledge and for developing important bonds between you and your child. Dough is also a good sensory activity, helping toddlers learn about different textures.
