Forgotten Vine Lost Branches I read the words of Jesus Christ from John chapter 15. I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. A lot of Christians and Jews alike have forgotten about the vine. For the Jews, the Pharisees and the lawyers are the vine. They believe that their temple is the vine, their scriptures are a vine. And they think as long as they're connected to their scriptures, the Torah, as long as they're connected to the Rabbi who knows the scriptures, then they have life. But they have completely disregarded the true vine of life. They are branches that cannot possibly bear good fruit. Similarly, Christians have forgotten the vine. Christians think that their church organization is the vine. They have gone dreadfully wrong with this. They even teach those in their congregation that if they leave their congregation, they will be like a branch broken off from the vine. They literally think that the church itself is the vine. They have forgotten about the Messiah. Other Christians suppose that their bible is the vine. They act as though the bible is what they need to be connected to. And because they believe the bible is the source of all life, they will put on bible studies; they will gather people around the bible, to worship the bible, to pray the bible, to seek out prophecies from the bible. They also have forgotten about the one true vine, Jesus Christ. They are branches who are severed. They also cannot possibly bear good fruit. It is impossible to bear good fruit unless you are a branch connected to the vine and that vine being Jesus Christ. Do you know Jesus Christ and are you producing good fruit? Or are you cut off or are you going to be cut off? May the grace of Jesus be with you.
