They make a big deal of how you need to be a slave, forcing you into that path no matter what decision you go with at the start of the DLC. However, it's rendered kind of moot because within ten minutes of getting to the Pitt, you're free again. If you're gonna do that, why bother with the whole lead pipe routine?
