We'll outline the general exam sections and time parameters of both the digital and paper exam formats and examine and summarize the historical developments in the United States from the end of the World War II to the beginnings of the 21st Century. We will trace the origins, evolution, and conclusion of the Cold War, and recap the opportunities and experiences of postwar American domestic life. We will go over the achievements and challenges of the Civil Rights Movement. We will explore what factors led the United States into the Vietnam War, and examine the impact of that conflict upon American society and politics. We will recap the rise of conservativism in the late 20th century, advances in technology and their impacts, and the overall trends of globalization and multiculturalism, reviewing the impacts of each of these factors upon contemporary society. This session’s exam component focus will be the SAQ and MCQ. We will examine and explain the SAQ scoring rubric for primary source excerpts, focusing upon the skill of comparison. We will also revisit an overall tutorial to explain the general format and construction of MCQ.
