November Canadian Garden | 30cm of snow later...

Welcome to a Winter garden tour here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We distinctly get all four seasons and with winter, it's a big change in the scenery. Lots of snow!! The first big snow dump here was 30cm. And it came, you know, mid to late November. We'll start here on this garden tour, exploring outdoors, and then we'll move indoors (to see all my preserved goods and a few plants I'm trying to overwinter) after we have some fresh air here. Personally, it feels a bit late for the arrival of snow this year; I have so many memories of the first snow arriving in October, usually on Halloween night. Canadians have to figure out how to wear our costumes either over or under puffy winter jackets. Come along with me in my SIMPLE URBAN HOMESTEADING GARDEN Tour and see what is happening in November. I love working towards a BACKYARD HOMESTEADING LIFESTYLE. Along the tour I'll share some URBAN HOMESTEADING GARDEN IDEAS- like backyard urban chickens, pickling and canning inspiration. What we grew here in the city as a family of 4. So you too can join and start urban homesteading in the city - creating a thriving backyard homestead in the city and a food forest. Even though we live in the city I really believe in doing what you can with the space you have and working towards growing more of our own food. SIMPLE URBAN HOMESTEADING FOR BEGINNERS just starts with a little bit of effort. We started with raised garden beds and container gardening. And have since expanded to include BACKYARD CHICKENS and made room for a homestead garden in the city. I'm just working with what I have, in the space that I have, to grow what I can.
