Asan Heart Institute marks third anniversary with 'Heart Saver' event

One of the top three major causes of death in Korea is heart disease, and we cannot emphasize enough of its prevention and management. AMC held a practical hands-on event for heart disease patients, along with a workshop for cardiac rehabilitation specialists. The events marked the third anniversary of the Asan Heart Institute. This the event was held to give the public useful, accurate information and tips for proper prevention and management of heart disease. At 'Heart Saver 2012,' lecture were given by cardiac rehabilitation specialists on prevention and management of specific heart conditions. They addressed the questions and common misconceptions of ordinary patients about healthcare, and attendees had a chance to be examined and review health precautions. Also, workshop for cardiac rehabilitation specialists was held for the first time, as well. The workshop introduced various programs exemplifying AMC's clinical know-how, and received a very positive response. This day's events also included a variety of programs in which patients and their caregivers had a chance to watch demonstrations and get involved in hands-on practical activities, which were quite popular. It was a significant occasion to once more raise awareness of the importance of the treatment, management, prevention, and rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease.
