Even centrists who backed Starmer face expulsion now...

Former Gordon Brown speech writer Neal Lawson has been caught by Starmer's thought police and now faces investigation. Right so, how right wing is Keir Starmer? How quantifiable is that? How can we measure it? He’s not right wing his supporters scoff, he’s just been committed to eliminating the ‘antisemitic left’ because of course it’s only left wing Labour members that can possibly be antisemitic of course. It’s a falsehood not just in its weaponisation of racism, but also because there are other reasons he has purged people, doing things not in keeping Labour Party ethos as he and his faction see it for one, allegations of a witch hunt for example, belonging to groups daring to be critical, punish them all and indeed punish those who ever spoke to them too. Why not purge somebody for being left wing and purge every member of their family whilst you’re at it? It makes just as much sense after all. What did you do to get the boot Fred? I liked a green party tweet and admitted to being a Foo Fighters fan, who knew Dave Grohl and co were so anti Labour! Now if such defenders of Team Keith were right and this was all there was to Starmer’s reasoning, then you can be sure a man of rules and of law would be completely fair and even handed in his treatment of people accused of doing something rotten, but he’s not. A clumsy comment by his loyalist Steve Reed regarding the Jewish former proprietor of the Daily Express elicited no punishment, falling afoul of the puppet master trope in that instance, but Corbyn exercising his enhanced protected right as defended by the EHRC no less to question the scale of antisemitism in his party as they had found it? Well we know how he’s been treated. But if you’re so determined that Starmer is genuinely of Blair’s non existent centre and not right wing, leaving aside his biased approach to dealing with the left, well, I’ve perhaps got some bad news for you. A chap called Neal Lawson, you may have heard of him, you may not, former speech writer to Gordon Brown has just been given notice of his investigation for breaking Labour Party rules.
