2nd Sunday after the Epiphany January 19, 2025 AS WE GATHER Epiphany. Merriam-Webster defines it as “a usually sudden manifestation or perception of the essential nature or meaning of something; an intuitive grasp of reality through something (such as an event); an illuminating discovery, realization, or disclosure.” As reflected in our Bible readings throughout the season, it asks, “What does this text reveal about Jesus?” Carried further, “What does it say about how Jesus is then manifested in our lives as His disciples, as ‘Light-bearers’ of His grace in the world?” In a three-part sermon series, we ask that very question, focusing on how the light of Christ manifests itself within the body of Christ. Paul (and Jesus) will be our guide, as we rejoice in the gift of Jesus coming to us and then sending us forth in His name. How has He gifted you? How will you respond?
