"Feel Like Sparrows in a Hurricane? Trust God's Closeness!" — 12th Sun. in Ordinary Time, 6/25/23
Today's gospel again uses mixed metaphors to describe the workings of God's love. God is with every little sparrow that may fall to the ground, perhaps blown down by a storm; plus God knows how many hairs there are on our head. So we know that God is with us always and everywhere, through winds of change or heartbreak; and God is lovingly close to us, as a parent is close to a child. Catholic Mass readings for the 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time, June 25, 2023: Jer 20: 10-13; Ps 69: 8-10, 14, 17, 33-35; Rom 5: 12-15; Ma 10: 26-33.
