സ്ലീബാ നമസ്കാരം - മൂന്നാം മണി Shimo of Wednesday - Third Hour
This is the Malayalam translation of the hymns from the Third Hour prayers of Wednesday from the Shimo. The prayers of Wednesday is known as "Sleeba Namaskaram" in Kerala. What makes this particular translation interesting is the fact that this is the very first translation of the Shimo of any day into Malayalam. And what it makes it even more amazing is that , this was done by a 15 year old boy. Yes this translation was done by the Late Very Rev Kurian Kaniamparambil, when he was just a 15 year old boy in 1928. Later on Kaniamparambil Achen translated the Shimo Namaskaram of all the days of the week as well. For those who are not familiar with the liturgical clock, "Third Hour" refers to the Third Hour from sunrise. With sunrise counted at 6AM, the "Third Hour" in the liturgical clock is 9AM in the secular setting. It was more than 21 years later in 1949 when Fr Vattakkunnel Mathew (later Catholicose Mathews Ist) with the help of Shri C.P Chandy did another translation of the Shimo of Wednesday.
