20 Thor Scenes Without CGI
Thor may be the God of Thunder, but to make that a possibility - CGI becomes the ultimate tool! Throughout the Marvel movies, Thor’s power is brought to life by CGI magic and to say it’s impressive is an understatement. Special effects were used to do everything from creating entire environments to sprucing up some grass that wasn’t quite epic enough for the production. Hela got her fair share of CGI treatment as well. At times, her entire costume was computer-generated - her most elaborate headdress included. Cate Blanchett brought all the power even without the special effects so when we see the final product, it’s obvious Hela is not to be messed with. Valkyrie had some pretty adventurous scenes, but luckily instead of flying high, the actor was safely on the ground and hooked up to all sorts of wires making sure she could safely perform all the stunts. While the ship she is at the helm of is on the ground, the intensity behind the performance makes us believe the actors are really zipping through the air fiercely. Want to make an explosion look extra epic? That’s what the special effects are for! Some explosions went beyond what we ‘D expect as the special effects creators went ahead and made one particular explosion so elaborate, it reminds us of a fourth of July celebration.
