Don Felder Guitar Tutorial Hotel California in B Minor
This is the well-known HD-quality Guitar World video that shows Eagles guitarist Don Felder teaching Hotel California on electric guitar. In the original video, he's playing all the parts in the key of A Minor (with a capo on 5 for the rhythm parts). I've transposed the pitch for all the guitar portions of the video so they sound like they're in B Minor, which is the key for the original version of Hotel California. Don explains in the original video that he plays the song live in A Minor for his own singing voice. I'm not sure exactly why he didn't do it in B Minor in the lesson but I think it's nice to hear it in B Minor in order to play along by ear while also getting some hints from his hand positions (which you'll have to convert to one step higher on the fretboard). 00:00 - Intro explainer 00:50 - Intro chords/arpeggios 01:20 - Rhythm parts explainer 02:14 - Intro played slowly 02:46 - Outro guitar solo explainer 03:28 - Outro guitar solo 05:40 - Outro guitar solo played slowly 08:17 - The "answer" licks during the choruses Here's a graphic with the opening chords: https://i.imgur.com/7CI01nT.png (capo on 7) Original footage in A minor: • Don Felder teaches you how to play th... -------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------- Support this channel: Patreon: / tunejotter One-time payment: https://paypal.me/tunejotter
