Horace Greeley, 1872 (Failed Presidential Contenders, feat. Sean Chick)

In this video, Sean and I discuss newspaperman Horace Greeley's disastrous 1872 run on both the Liberal Republican and Democratic tickets. Presenting a weak challenge to Grant on the grounds of Grant's corruption, Greeley was crushed and this led to the second (and significantly more corrupt) second term of Ulysses S. Grant. Greeley also died between election day and when the Electoral College convened in late November.
