Happy 3rd Sunday of Advent - Joy! As we prepare our hearts for the arrival of Jesus, each Advent Sunday we read scripture and Bible verses, make a treat and light our homemade dipped candles. It has become a special tradition we do each year. We dip them the old fashioned way — by melting wax in hot water and then dipping the wick into the wax, then into water and repeat until we’re happy with the candle we have created. Yes, we are using a soy-paraffin wax and yes, paraffin wax is not the healthiest to burn, but we are only burning them for a few minutes during our readings. We will be making different ones (hopefully beeswax or tallow) next year!
