Honda Civic FL5 Type R FIRST Impressions (From a 90's Honda Guy)

Its ABOUT TIME! In today's video, I get my FIRST in-person look at the new 2023 Honda Civic Type R! I give you my genuine FL5 first impressions and full walk-around from the perspective of a 90's Honda guy. I talk about the things I like, the things I don't, and whether or not I see myself buying one! Hint* It's better in person. Enjoy! This FL5 Civic Type R video was very unplanned to say the least! Living in Idaho, I didn't know when or where I would see the Type R for the first time. To my surprise, my friend Steve at Garage Slick ending up buying a 2023 Type R just days before this video. I knew I NEEDED to see the Type R in person and give you all my first impressions review. As another surprise, he had not one, but TWO FL5 Type R's in the shop, crazy! Both in Championship White and Boost Blue. So I grabbed my camera, and began filming as thoughts would come into my head. As far as the FK8 Civic Type R Vs the FL5 Civic Type R, I think they both are amazing cars. I think the FK8 will always be the more aggressive and youthful Type R, but the FL5 is timeless and grown up. The more I looked at the cars, the more I liked them. Video reviews and photos don't do the car justice until you see on in person. The width of the Type R was one of the things I noticed most. She thicc. As far as a review of the interior of the Type R, I would say it's arguably my favorite part. It's simple and clean with some standout seats and carpet that makes it feel special. So will I eventually buy an FL5 Civic Type R? Maybe someday. Hopefully I'll be able to give you a Type R driving impressions video in the next few weeks to really make up my mind. In short, it's a beautiful car with all the tings a driver needs and none of the things they don't. Is it worth the Dealer Markups over MSRP? Maybe to some, but that's one big hurdle that I think most people are facing about these cars. Anyway, I can't wait to drive it. Thank you to Garage Slick for having me out to check it out!
