This quickly sparked his curiosity, asking what is life, death, a shinobi, a village, you name it and he questioned it. This is one of the main reasons why Itachi is such a prodigy. Also, we skipped to the time of Obito's extraction of the Nine tails from Kushina, and what and how Itachi thought about during that time too. After this Itachi kept training and asking to be taught more advanced Jutsus, and he would shadow clone for school, and train with Shisui instead. However, when the higher ups found out it was a shadow clone, they promoted him and he graduated after only a single year at school. Again, another reason he is a prodigy.
