Breaking Chords - Arpeggio FAQ
Here's the debut episode of Breaking Chords which focuses on a series of common questions I've received over the years from students surrounding arpeggios and their use/role in music. Arpeggios are very useful to learn and explore in any style of music, and it really doesn't matter if you're a rock, jazz, metal, blues, country, or classical player - you'll find arpeggios being performed and used in a variety of styles, genres, and subgenres of music. From basic melodic arpeggio-based movements during licks and fills to full-blown arpeggio-based shred guitar antics featuring blazing-fast arpeggio moves that will surely turn some heads and attract attention whenever they're performed. This initial installment in this series revolves around some basic concepts and ideas that should help many players out there understand a little more about finding and using arpeggios melodically and musically. As this series unfolds, we'll move forward with this (and other) material to uncover additional arpeggio-based ideas, including sweeping, string-skipping, tapping, and much more.
