Bulletproof - Nate Smith (play-along for guitar)

This is a screen-capture video from a TuneLing for "Bulletproof" from the album "Through The Smoke", by Nate Smith. This song is also available in a separate TuneLing video for ukulele! Notes: This song is based on the continuous repetition of a very simple chord pattern: Am to C to G to D - which is about as basic as it gets. But there are a couple of very small enhancements to this, as follows... In bars 4 and 8, there's a G9 chord on the last beat. For this chord, it's important to NOT PLAY the lowest two strings, and the best way to do that is by muting both of them with your left thumb. But the chord's effect is subtle, so beginners, you can certainly just play a plain G chord throughout those bars if that makes its easier for you. But the G9 is an easy chord, so if you can do it correctly with the low strings muted, go for it! There's also one lonely D/F# chord, in bar 34, which reflects what the bass guitar is doing: moving down from the previous G chord, to F#, instead of moving up to a D note. This chord requires the left thumb to fret the lowest note, and simultaneously mute the 5th (second-lowest) string. But it's not critical at all, so again, beginners should feel free to just play a plain D instead of D/F#. It would be easy to dismiss this song as too simple to be interesting, but it actually has a lot going for it. It has a very distinct lyric that makes perfect sense - if you read it carefully(!) - a great lead vocal, and a powerful rock-influenced production. Certainly, more advanced players will be able to add minor enhancements easily enough. But for beginners, the benefit of learning this one is the development of muscle memory that comes from repeating a simple pattern over and over. Try it - you'll be surprised at how fast you can get better at this, once you have the pattern down!
