A staple exercise in your bicep training is the straight bar bicep curl. Watch as fitness expert James Grage shows you how to properly do a straight bar bicep curl by demonstrating you the common mistakes. One of the common no-no’s is elbows coming out in front of you; you don’t want them to be pointing forward. Instead, ou always want your elbows to be in a fixed position. Don’t use momentum to get the bar up, instead control your movement. The lean back is also another mistake. Instead, concentrate on the three phases of the movement: the squeeze up, the squeeze at the top and you’re negative when your bringing the bar back down.
