Part 8.5: Pruning, Thinning and Training
One of the most important aspects of fruit trees is pruning, and not just pruning, but thinning and training as well. In this video, Deanna Bigio, the Horticulture Extension of Wake County, and Karen DiDonato, Extension Master Gardener volunteer of Wake County, give an overview of these concepts, which can be applied to ornamental trees as well. Deanna Bigio has an MS in Horticultural Science from the University of Georgia and focused on peaches, and Karen DiDonato owns a fruit orchard business, with one farm in NC, and the other in VA.
