#HonkaiStarRail #HoYoVerse Unexpected 10k Personal Best Date: 5/9/2023 10:34 PM Distance: 10k Surface: Road Pre-attempt thoughts: Okay so this was never intended to be a Time Trial or a Race, while I was at the shower this afternoon I came with a plan to for what I should be running, and this was also the same message I sent to my friends: 6km total of effort. 1 loop warm up @7:00 to 6:00 km pace, 3-4 km in of steady 6:30 to 6:00 effort, if feeling good holding in 5:00 km effort at last 1 km. And then ending off with 3 x 100 meter strides at the grass. After strides cooldown. That was the plan. An hour before this there was a thunderstorm and I waited a bit until it felt cleared up to go out, while cycling to get to the area I wish to run in, the roads were flooded canal, sewer, muddy. Just all over me especially my back. So not the most ideal conditions. I still continued and steeled myself to complete this workout. It felt actually nice and cold riding. Race Report: Did just a few leg swings and I went off running. I didn't check my phone ( yes no gps watch yet ) and just went running by feel. Surprisingly after one loop , I was hitting 5:30 - 5:21 to 5:00 km pace, and also I felt really good while doing this, during this initial run I thought this must be because of my kettlebell strength training, it felt so nice running this pace, no niggles, no pain. I continued on with this pace and after like 4 km I was grinning/smiling the whole time because it really felt like this was the day where I was gonna hit my 10k PB, and upon that realization, that's where the pain kicked in, not on my legs but like my cardiovascular system, it was getting a bit more difficult breathing in, felt like something was blocking my throat, the weather is like 88% humidity, weather app saying very poor to poor running conditions as well. I continued on and just kept running on how I felt, I made sure to keep a fast cadence, there were moments I felt light headed and just closed my eyes to focus. Continuation with Race Report: To focus on just running and trying to not think of anything, just being in the moment. During the last 8 to 9km mark was the hardest and also the time where I thought of all my training, the things I've done, for my father as he passed away, just for everything that lead me to this moment. And it gave me kind of an electric boost that I felt up my spine. And finished my current 10k PB 52:53, the last 300 meters I opened up my arms and just ran as hard as I can, after finishing I looked at my time and I just screamed in joy, just happy that the results finally showed. Reflection: I knew that my 10k PB was very possible to target, it was just very surprising that today was that moment. I feel like if I give myself 6 more months of training, I'd be able to shave off even more time off this PB. 1. What gives me confidence so far is that I did this in not so ideal running conditions. 2. I didn't run in my Super Shoes the Nike Alphaflys, using the old trusty Kinvara 13's just beat up at this point clocking in 396km on my strava + all the every day casual use cycling walking everything in that shoe 3. Two days before this I did a longer run 11km and cycled 18km total. 4. I still felt really good finishing not like my other races where I feel very sore and just done and cannot walk, I still have energy. This is also my sleep is very much reversed and probably not healthy at all. I've been waking up at 1 pm to 4 PM because of me playing and just grinding this game called Honkai: Star Rail. Nutrition: Nothing special, just fast food chicken breast from Jollibee and Popeyes few days off, ate a Go Geisha salad from Salad Stop, drank a bit of convenience store bought local coffee before heading off for the run, dra Continuity of Grind Honkai: Star Rail Part 3 for real this time Yesterday was great progression, lets do our best today too! Jolibee Honkai: Star Rail Level 31 Equilibrium Level 2 Grind Just Grinding Honkai Star Rail At the same time pro training for Marathon UID Honkai Star Rail: 806682058 (Charles) Socials:   / icharlesdesu     / gamer651_   https://myanimelist.net/profile/Gamer651 #HonkaiStarRail #HoYoVerse
