I-70 reopens following fatal crash
ST. LOUIS — A 62-year-old man was killed in a crash along Interstate 70 early Saturday morning. The initial investigation revealed the driver of a Chevrolet Impala was traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of I-70 when it struck a Cadillac Escalade head-on. The driver of the Impala was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. He was identified as Larry Reed, 62. The driver of the Escalade, a 23-year-old driver woman, and two passengers, a 42-year-old man and 40-year-old woman were taken to the hospital. The 40-year-old woman was listed in critical condition. I-70 was closed for several hours while officials cleared the scene. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said Accident Reconstruction is handling the investigation.
